Museum
The mission of the Brewster - Sugar Creek Township Historical Society which includes: Beach City, Brewster, Wilmot and Justus, is to collect, preserve, and exhibit Sugar-Creek Township’s rich railroad and cultural history in an educational setting for present and future generations.
The Brewster Sugar Creek Township Historical Society was incorporated as a non- profit corporation on April 12, 1976. This same year, the Norfolk and Western Railroad donated the former Brewster Y.M.C.A. building known as the Wandle House to the Historical Society.
On March 26, 1985, The Wandle House was entered into the National Register of Historic Places.
The Brewster Sugar Creek Township Historical Society Museum, located in the Wandle House, tells the township’s story through displays of area artifacts, memorabilia, pictures and documents. Guests will also learn about our local heroes when visiting the military exhibits located in the Theater Room in west end of the building. Anyone wishing to explore further may do so in our research room that is available by appointment.
